Thandeka Nombanjinji-Nzama grew up in a family of entrepreneur parents. She was raised being imparted with a wealth of knowledge within the property sector by her late father, Mr Ligwa Nombanjinji, who was one of the biggest property developers.
This mother and wife is also the MD of Nombanjinji Family Property, a commercial property and property development group with a substantial portfolio in retail, office and residential rental apartment properties and a fuel station.
After following her passion for developing through her many years serving as the MD of Nombanjinji Family Property, Thandeka Nombanjinji-Nzama founded Nombanjinji Construction & Projects which specialized in general construction and civil works. As she spearheaded Nombanjinji Construction & Projects, she came to the realization of how the construction industry was far from being inclusive for females. It was then that she decided to re-structure and create Mbokodo Building Pty Ltd to address and tackle the major patriarchal challenges women faced on a daily basis in the industry and to ensure that they form as an equitable part of the construction industry.
Mrs Nombanjinji-Nzama has a strong passion for empowering the female youth and is an advocate for generational wealth creation for women.
She believes that “Making a difference should not only mean vocalizing an issue over and over again without any action; but being able to stand up fearlessly and doing something about it”
